Please help us welcome Father Sebastian Garcia to San Jose Parish! Welcome to your new San Jose Catholic family! We are thankful, grateful, and blessed to have you with us. See his bio below:

My name is Sebastian Garcia. I belong to the Archdiocese of Newark, NJ. I was born and raised in Burgos, Spain. My father passed three years ago, and my mother is a widow. I am the fifth child of a family of seven, five sisters and one brother. Two of my siblings pursued religious life as Poor Clare nuns, and the rest are all married. I have now 29 nephews and nieces and growing. Coming from a large family, I grew up always having a strong sense of Christian family values. I believe it was the experience of being raised within a Christian family, that led me to discover the vocation to the priesthood. At the age of 18, having just finished high school, and moved by a desire to serve the Church as a missionary priest, I began my seminary studies for the Archdiocese of Newark in 1997. I was ordained a priest on May 26, 2007. After serving in the Archdiocese of Newark for 3 years as a Parochial Vicar in Jersey City, I had the opportunity to do missionary work in the South East area of the United States. For the past three years, I have been serving in the Diocese of St. Augustine, at Sacred Heart Parish on Fleming Island, and I am looking forward to serving now at San Jose. I am always grateful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity to serve, and I pray that I may always be ready to go wherever he sends me.
